I finally finished cleaning and organizing my 14814981 Star Trek action figures, so I took a picture. That's it really.
And yeah, I have a ton more, but they are all crappy Playmates figures. This is my Art Asylum collection. Oh, I have some of the DS9 and TNG Art Asylum ones, but I don't keep them with the TOS guys.
And Shran's just there on security duty, cuz like, I hate Enterprise but luuuuuv Jeffrey Combs.
Needs moar Gorn and Marlena Moreau. :/ AND STOP DICKING AROUND DIAMOND SELECT AND RELEASE WAVE 5 GAAAAH.
Oh yeah, and thanks to ~ottervomit for photoshopping it to have the lighting effect that the lava lamp actually gives it (IGNORE THAT UGLY FLASH). <3
Heh well luck had nothing to do with it, just $$$ all from my pocket... as far as I know, none of these are that rare? Now, it would have been lucky if I had had the foresight to buy Marlena Moreau when she came out. I wasn't going to bother with the rest of the Mirror line, but she was a separate character, so I wanted her. HOWEVER... I never got around to it and now that figure is very hard to find, and it goes for a lot.
Dax was in love with the Kahn symbiont, but that was a different Khan. Jadzia is pretty awesome, I admit I have a tiny crush on her. The Dax symbiont was alive while Khan was, although I don't think it would have been possible for whatever body it was in to have met Khan (and since he was with McGivers the whole time I don't think he would have been in love with him/her)
But I don't really have the cash to buy all those figures right now I have enough to buy one of those 2-packs, and I'm trying to decide between Kirk&Uhura and McCoy&Sulu. I don't want my Spock to be without Kirk for much longer, but I REALLY want a McCoy figure (because I'm completely in love with McCoy)!
Someday I'll try to get the Moreau figure, but there's an old Edith Keeler one from a different maker that I believe is pretty rare but I want it! (I wish they had figures of more characters that only appeared in one episode)
Oh yeah, I love Jadzia. She was just a flirt/slept around though. But to clear it up, I don't actual see Dax/Khan as any kind of realistic pairing. I just have her with Khan for the dance party, because I imagine that she would find him attractive if she did meet him.
Oh I forgot about the other Kahn! I always thought it was weird that they didn't name her something else in order to avoid confusion.
I understand, I am actually unemployed at the moment, so I have to really limit my spending until I can find a new job (and it's been hard...). These figures were bought over the span of the last five years or so. I also have Kang now, but I didn't get him until right after I took this picture. Hmm, I would suggest getting the Kirk/Uhura two pack first because the Uhura figure was fairly rare and it went for ~$50 if you could find it - thank god for those re-releases! I assume the Kirk/Uhura pack will sell out faster than the others because of that. McCoy/Sulu should still be around, but I had also seen McCoy (and Sulu too) often at a decent price before the re-releases, so you should be fine.
Yeah, Marlena Moreau is for when you have money to burn... I've seen it go multiple times for ~$80. I am so kicking myself for not buying it. I mean, I was at the Vegas 07 convention which was not too long after the figures were released, and there was a WHOLE TABLE of them at Barbara Luna's booth.... fihskughelkghwgwofeli *kills self*
I've seen that Edith Keeler figure. It was made by Playmates, who had the Star Trek license for a while. Playmates did soooo many figures that there were actually a bunch from single episodes. Oh, I had no idea Edith Keeler was rare though. Huh. I have around 40 or so of the Playmates figures, but they are all TNG/DS9/VOY (even though I hate Voyager lol)... no need for the TOS ones when Art Asylum/Diamond Select has been making such awesome figures (though they are going downhill now...).
I'm an unemployed college student so I usually just have to spend money I get for Christmas/my birthday. Yeah, I'll get a job someday but I don't really want a lot of distractions from school.
My birthday's coming up so hopefully I'll get some for my birthday.
I don't know how rare Edith Keeler is, actually. I've only just started my figure collection.
Sigh, I wish I could afford not to have distractions from school.
I don't think it's rare. Most of those Playmates figures aren't. The only ones that are rare really are the main Voyager characters, especially Seven of Nine. They all had a very limited run at the end of Playmate's license.
Okay, I just checked ebay - Edith Keeler is all over the place.
Well, Diamond Select has been really bad about never releasing things that they say they're going to. There are many figured where the sculpting has been totally finished, but then they don't go into production because they think there isn't enough interest. It's very backwards, really. Basically, they claim that they are not making enough money on their Star Trek line, but I think a lot of it is their own fault as far as marketing and all that goes.
Khan/Jadzia could work, maybe...
You're so lucky to have all these figures! I only have Spock, Scotty and Mirror Spock from Diamond Select, but I want more!

fuck this thread I'm going to space
Dax is a total ho, you know she'd fall for Khan.

How is AA/DS going downhill?
